How and Why Becoming a SAA Member

How to become a member of the SAA

Before you submit your application, please read the SAA statutes where you can find information about the structure of the association, its purposes, and its functioning.

Once you’ve done that, you can proceed!

  1. Read our Privacy Policy. By fulfilling step 2, you agree these terms and the data use.
  2. Fill the Membership Request form. Make sure you complete field “Motivation”.
  3. Wait until approval, which may take a few days: you will receive an email as soon as your request is approved.

Why being a SAA member

The membership to the SAA gives you the right to participate to the SAA General Assembly (see statutes) as well as to other activities organized by the SAA.

When being a member, you will:

  • be able to subscribe to the Newsletter to receive up to date information about the activity of the association
  • gain the possibility to post and comment on the SAA blog
  • have access to additional resources such as the webinar recordings.

You can support the SAA in several ways:

  • Notify on new publications on sequence analysis or related methods to info@sequenceanalysis.org: these will be included in our Zotero Library and possibly in the News.
  • Let us know about new packages and functions in R or Stata (or any other software) that can be helpful to SA practitioners by sending an email to
info@sequenceanalysis.org: we will distribute the information through our Newsletter and possibly insert it in the Software list.
  • Organize symposiums/workshops with the support of the SAA: you can submit requests to the Executive Committee.
  • Post information about conferences, workshops, and any event that might be of interest for the SAA community on our Blog. We will distribute such information through our Newsletter
